Dolphin Academy Curacao is looking for a talented, creative, dynamic and customer oriented photo/video colleague to work within the photoshop department. As a photo/video staff member you will be responsible for capturing and editing images of our customers during activities such as presentations, kisses, swims, encounters, snorkel and dive programs. You will also be responsible for selling the pictures and videos, taken, to the customers.Key responsibilities
- Take photos of the different Dolphin Academy programs
- Utilize technology and techniques needed to shoot professional photos/ video’s

The Front Office department acts as the business card of the organization. As a Front Office Agent, you are responsible for all reservations. Also receiving, checking in and providing general tourist information to the guests. As well as operating the telephone exchange and perform distinct administrative work.Key responsibilities
- Make and manage reservations quickly and accurately

Overview
The Curacao Marine Research Centre (CMRC), consisting of a consortium of three local companies, being the Curacao Sea Aquarium, Substation Curacao and RV Chapman Shipping recently received a grant from the European Union’s RESEMBID program. With the grant the Queen Conch Hatchery hopes to reach its goal to stop the dwindling Queen Conch population on Curacao by releasing cultured juvenile Queen Conch and egg masses to strengthen the local, natural population; to improve fisheries regulations and enforcement; and to provide juveniles for potential local or regional, commercial aquaculture companies or other regional population enhancement programs.
For the duration of the project (19 months), the Queen Conch hatchery is looking for an experienced Queen Conch population expert to advice the project team (which includes marine biologists) on a standard method to measure the size and structure of the Queen Conch population specific locations. This method should be easily repeated on a yearly basis and cost effective.
The goal of these measurements is to be able to prove the success of population enhancement activities (outplanting, fishery regulation improvement and improved enforcement) which are realized in the project.
The Queen Conch population expert will advise the project team on:
- The design of a standard method to measure the size and the structure of a Queen Conch population in situ that is replicable in different locations.
- The technical details of field inventories and observations
- The processing of the inventory data
- The discussion and conclusions drawn from the data analysis.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in marine biology or related study, preferably a PhD in this field
- Minimum of 10 years research experience in the field of Queen Conch biology
- Good written communication skills in English
- Software knowledge for data analysis.
- No need to visit or to be based on Curacao, advice to be given via digital media

For the duration of the project (19 months, now 15 months left), the Queen Conch hatchery is looking for an experienced Queen Conch Aquaculture Specialist to advice the project team (which includes marine biologists) on infrastructure, procedures, and protocols of operation to improve the ongoing queen conch hatchery in such a way the hatchery objective as defined in the project can be reached: grow 10,000 1-year juveniles per year.
The goal of this specialist is to bring knowledge and experience to complement into the methodologies applied in the functioning of the systems to be able to increase the productivity of the hatchery and therefore reach the natural population recovery goals defined in this project.
The expert will visit the hatchery 2 times for a 4-day visit. The first visit will be planned in June/July 2023, the second visit in 2024. The expert will give on-line advice up to a maximum of 64 hours.
The Queen Conch aquaculture specialist will advise the project team on:
- Improve daily operation protocols and techniques for the queen conch hatchery curacao
- Optimization of working procedures related to diets, water quality, hygiene, and organization
- Technical and infrastructural advice for the facility

Job Description
The Queen Conch Aquaculture Operator position requires hands-on skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to implement a wide variety of functions necessary to properly run a queen conch aquaculture facility. The operator will carry out established protocols to increase the productivity of the hatchery and provide feedback to increase the efficiency of the daily workload. The operator is responsible for the care of the Queen Conch eggs, larvae, and juveniles housed in the Queen Conch Hatchery of Curacao Sea Aquarium Park. The operator’s duties focus on providing care for these marine creatures and maintaining a quality and presentable environment for these animals to live in
Key Responsibilities
- Care for the conchs during all stages of development.
- Water quality management.
- Food Preparation for cultured queen conch.
- Properly following feeding schedules and daily regimes.
- Cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Filling in daily logs and data collection sheets.
- Maintaining and cleaning tanks, containers, and tubing.

Skills and Qualifications
- High school Diploma, minimum VMBO. (Preferably a completed Animal Care education (MBO level).
- Animal Care, Aquarium, or Zoo experience.
- Knowledge of marine aquaria, organisms, and/or ecosystems.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Deliver punctual and tidy work.
- Creative, energetic, flexible, loyal, realistic, and committed.
- Good swimming skills, open water dive certificate is a plus.

The Marketing and Communication Officer is responsible:

Main duties and responsibilities

As a Snorkel Guide for AE you need to be pro-active and turn every interaction into a positive guest experience on behalf of the AE department and the company. During the program for AE, it is our first priority to ensure that our guests have a memorable and safe experience with the marine life in the AE Lagoon. Other job-related activities include preparing fish and dietary needs for the animals, maintenance of the natural lagoon and cleaning up and preparing the lagoon areas. Job Description
As the host of Dolphin Academy, your friendly demeanor is the first thing our guests sees, and we want you to make it a great lasting impression! As the host you need to provide a great customer service for the Front Office, Photoshop and Dolphin Programs.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure that all guests adhere to the mandatory regulations that apply at Dolphin Academy, such as wearing a mask inside (Front Office, Photoshop, Giftshop)
- Take care that no agglomeration occurs
- Assign the guests to the available counter at the Front Office and the Photoshop
- Assist the guest with filling in the waivers
- Accompany the guests to the Dolphin presentation and assist where necessary
- Assist the guests when the Dolphin Kiss starts and work together with the dolphin trainers and the photographer considering the regulations of COVID-19
- Make sure there is order when the dolphin presentation starts and when the pictures are being taken
- Make sure that at the stand there is a minimum of 2-meter distance between the guests that are not together (a family)
- Before the Dolphin programs starts, make sure that when the groups are divided between the swimmers and the spectators, the spectators are guided to the correct area
- Committed to a good cooperation between the Front Office, Photoshop, Giftshop and Trainers department
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 years working experience as a host/hostess in the hospitality industry
